You might be unsure which job might suit you or worried about the expenses involved, and I understand.

One of my favourite work at home resource is by Micala Quinn. She is one of the best freelance experts who train moms to gain financial freedom working from home. If you are a part of any Facebook group for women entrepreneurs, you would have come across her name as a recommendation in several discussions. Check out her free training to learn how stay-at-home moms can start and grow a successful work at home career.

 1. Good Word Skills?

As an online proofreader, you get to read through a document, blog post, website article or a book and correct errors.
If you are good at spotting grammatical errors in text, or pointing out spelling errors in a menu card, this is the perfect job for you.
Income potential is anywhere between $37k – $60k which increases with experience.
There are two types of proofreading
  • General Proofreading
  • Transcript Proofreading
General is good for beginners and involves reading through books or blogs to correct mistakes. It’s less technical and quicker to master.
You can then move on to Transcript proofreading (which involves correcting legal documents) with higher income potential.
Caitlin is an expert at proofreading and has taught over 4,000 students online.
She has a FREE 76-minute workshop, that will give you an in-depth insight into this lucrative business.

2. Are you a hobby writer?

Do you enjoy writing?
You can now progress from a hobby writer to a professional freelance writer like Holly Johnson. Holly now makes over $200,00o a year and shares with you some inside tips in her free intro course on freelance writing.
If you are good at writing, but not sure how to turn that into a lucrative career, this course is for you.

3. Make Money on Instagram

Did you know you can make money on Instagram for sharing images and growing a following? Instagram expert Alex Tooby has over 465,000 followers and shares her knowledge on how you can increase your followers and engagement, leading to sales. You don’t need to have your own products to sell, but instead promote affiliate products that you have found useful. So if you enjoyed using this particular coconut oil, you can share an affiliate link to that product, and when your followers buy from it, you earn a commission.
If your followers are interested in what you have to share, and if you are using the right strategies to work with the Instagram algorithm, you are already a winner. This is what you will learn from Alex – strategies that will grow you an income from Instagram.
Alex has been featured in a good number of online publications, including Cosmopolitan, Time, Marie Clarie and Buzz Feed. Check out her free Instagram masterclass right here.

4. Make Money on Pinterest

There are a number of ways to make money on Pinterest, from affiliate marketing, promoting blog posts or working as a Pinterest virtual assistant.
If you are familiar with Pinterest and enjoy sharing pins, this is something you will do as a career. Pinterest VA’s help bloggers and online businesses set up a Pinterest account, create pin images and share to the platform. This free workshop will show you how you can make an extra $2,000 a month on Pinterest.

6. Edit Files at Home
Have an interest in crosswords and word puzzles?
You will definitely love this, with an income potential of nearly $50,000/year.
What are we talking about? – Scoping work.
You will be given court transcripts to edit at home and send back via email to the court reporter. Don’t worry you don’t need to travel to court for this, most of the communication is done via emails.
You need to have good grammatical skills and a decent computer with internet access to get started. Scopists can be paid anywhere between $30,000 – $50,000/ year all working from anywhere. I have an interview post with the Linda Evenson, the course creator and scopist with over 35 years of experience in the field.
She talks about how you can become a scopist as a beginner in more detail here.
But if you want to jump right in, there is a FREE mini course below to give you an idea of what the job involves.

7. Online Bookkeeping

As a virtual bookkeeper, you get to work with clients online and earn up to $60/hour bookkeeping. If you are good with numbers, this is one high paying career to consider.
Bookkeeper Launch is an online school that has trained over 4,000 students to become online bookkeepers with no experience.
The course is designed in such a way so it’s easy for those who already have a job or for busy stay-at-home parents raising kids.
They have created a free course for you to test the waters and see how the business works.
You will learn if bookkeeping is the right fit for you, how to run your business and find clients. On completion of the paid course, you will receive a course completion certificate which you can show potential clients.

 8. Virtual Assistant
VIRTUAL ASSISTANT
This is a fantastic online job option with an hourly pay of $25 -$100 an hour (per the website).
Companies find it hard to deal with managing their emails, social media promotion, and organising their weekly calendar. So they outsource this to virtual assistants to assist them.
You can work from home or anywhere in the world as a virtual assistant. It’s quite flexible allowing you to work either 10 or 40 hours a week – you decide.
If you are looking for a more detailed job description, you can download this list of 150 services you can offer as a virtual assistant to see if it will be a good fit for you.

9. Typing Jobs
Are you a fast and accurate typist?
Then you can try working as an online transcriptionist.
This involves listening to a set of pre-recorded or live audio files and typing it into text. The main skill involved in pursuing this career is to have a good command of the language and accurate typing skills. You will also need some patience, as not all audios come with good clarity. But that’s not something to worry about, as these audio usually pay better.

10. Sell On Ebay
Now, this might take you by surprise. But there are people making way more than a full-time income selling things on Ebay.
How this works is, you buy something for say $10 and sell it for $150. Now that’s a huge profit.
Melissa and her husband Rob have been doing this for many years and make over $133,000 a year! They can teach you exactly how this can be done from start to finish. There isn’t a free course to flipping, but if just thought I’d include it in here if you’d like to check it out.
