Have you ever dreamed of working from home? Or working from a beach on a tropical island?
This was my dream for so many years! I knew I didn’t want to stay at my stuffy accounting job, but I didn’t know how to make my dream a reality.
So I did what any millennial woman would do, I asked Google to solve my problems. After some basic searches, I was overwhelmed with tons of promising work from home ideas! But.. it didn’t take me long to figure out that the internet was full of lies..
Long story short, I tried opening a bookkeeping business, I tried providing Facebook ad services, I reviewed websites, I took online surveys, and I joined multiple MLM companies. During this time, I made under $100 and spent thousands (cringe).  Now, I’m not saying that these methods don’t work at all, but they definitely didn’t work for me.
At this point, I was exhausted and defeated, but I was still desperate to make something work, so I decided to start a blog (even though I wanted nothing to do with blogging). Throughout my blogging journey, I learned insane amounts of information about everything from web design to Pinterest marketing.
The idea of getting blog traffic from Pinterest really piqued my interest, so I enrolled in multiple Pinterest courses and spent hours testing ideas and designs. After a few months, I was able to master Pinterest for my blog, but the more I dove into the blogging world, the more I saw other bloggers struggling with Pinterest. It became clear that there were a lot of other bloggers and business owners that wanted to use Pinterest, but just didn’t have the time or expertise.
I started looking into the idea of offering Pinterest management services to bloggers and online business owners (mostly because I had seen other Pinterest gurus offering these services and making pretty good money). Eventually, I decided to give the whole “Pinterest management” thing a shot and ended up getting my first Pinterest client (paying $25 an hour) in under 5 days. Pretty crazy, right?!
Now that you know a little more about my story, let’s dive into the details and discuss how you can start offering Pinterest marketing services.

Why Pinterest?

Pinterest has been an amazing tool for me and my business (check out some of my personal results below) and I’m not alone!
Many bloggers and business owners know how powerful Pinterest can be, but not everyone has the time and resources to dedicate to learning and managing a whole new social media platform.
This is where the need for Pinterest managers or Pinterest experts comes into play.

What Do Pinterest Managers Do?

Pinterest Managers or virtual assistants can do a whole variety of tasks! If you choose to become a Pinterest manager you can choose exactly which types of services you’d like to offer.
Some common Pinterest management tasks include:
  • Auditing/Providing Feedback on Pinterest Accounts
  • Website Optimization for Pinterest
  • Pinterest Profile Cleanup/Optimization
  • Pinning
  • Pin Scheduling
  • Creating Pin Graphics
  • Conducting Pinterest Keyword Research
  • Creating and Implementing a Pinterest Strategy
  • Pinterest Advice and Coaching
  • And more..
As a Pinterest manager you can choose to offer small services or full management packages depending on your time availability, skills and desired income.

How Much Do Pinterest Managers Make?

Great question! When I first started as a Pinterest manager through UpWork, I was making $25 an hour for my services. Pretty awesome, right?!

My First UpWork Contract
Now that I am a little more established as a Pinterest manager, I charge a monthly rate of around $500.
Let’s do some math to get a better idea of earning potential.
I spend about 2-3 hours a week on each client’s Pinterest account (if you’re new to Pinterest you will likely spend more time per account in the beginning), meaning I could take on roughly 13 clients if I wanted to put in 40 hours a week.
13 clients at $500 a month is $6,500 a month. Multiply that by 12 and you have potential annual earnings of $78,000. Ummm, wow!

So Who Can Become a Pinterest Manager and What Does It Take?

Honestly, if you’re willing to learn Pinterest and put in the work to offer high-quality services, you can become a Pinterest manager!
Hint: Offering Pinterest management services can be an amazing opportunity for stay at home moms, college students, bloggers or anyone looking to make some extra money online!
But What Does it Take?
For starters, becoming a Pinterest manager takes a time investment. You’ll need to invest time into learning Pinterest marketing (if you’re not already familiar), you will need to invest time into creating your business, and you will need to invest time into each client’s account.
Secondly, you need to be trustworthy and responsible. This might seem like a no brainer, but this is huge! Your clients are expecting you to show up, to put in the work and to ultimately, get them results. If you’re falling short on your promises or not putting in the time and effort, you likely won’t make it very far as a Pinterest manager.
Lastly, you need to be a decent communicator. This doesn’t mean that you need to be the most outgoing person in the world, but you do need to be able to provide regular updates to your clients whether they are good or bad.
Overall, Pinterest management can be a great gig for anyone that is willing to put in the time and effort to learn the platform and get solid results for their clients.
